Ice Carver Certification Program

The National Ice Carving Association is an organization of individuals who enjoy the art of ice carving. The objective of NICA is to promote ice sculpture through education, competitions, standardized judging, and exhibitions. The NICA National Certification Program was started to provide the carvers with professional recognition in the industry. NICA certification achievements are give to those who earn points in public relations, carving experience, education, professional activities, NICA & ACF competitions, and judging experience. Once certified, you will receive a certificate that will distinguish which level of certification you have achieved.

Once you have completed the point sheet and assembled your documentation, you need to submit your application. The following information needs to be included with your application: Your name, address, phone number(s), and email address, the number of years that you’ve been carving ice, and the level of certification that you’re applying for. Also, don’t forget your application fee (check or money order made out to NICA)!If you have any more questions please contact us.

CERTIFIED ICE CARVER; CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL ICE CARVER; CERTIFIED MASTER ICE CARVER.  NICA has created three levels of certification: Certified Ice Carver, Certified Professional Ice Carver, and Certified Master Ice Carver. The minimum points required to achieve each level of certification is listed on the points sheet. After certification is granted, the only requirement is to remain an active member of NICA. The first step in the certification process is first to become a member of NICA.

NICA APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM: PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAILS:

NICA hasnica_apprenticeship_logo created an apprenticeship program in which culinary students can learn the art ice carving.  The student will be required to work with a certified Ice Carving Educator that runs one of these accredited programs.  The student will learn basic competencies and have the opportunity to work with ice and build a portfolio.
