The National Ice Carving Association is an organization of individuals who enjoy the art of ice carving. The objective of NICA is to promote ice sculpture through education, competitions, standardized judging, and exhibitions. The NICA National Certification Program was started to provide the carvers with professional recognition in the industry. NICA certification achievements are give to those who earn points in public relations, carving experience, education, professional activities, NICA & ACF competitions, and judging experience. Once certified, you will receive a certificate that will distinguish which level of certification you have achieved.
 |
NICA has created three levels of certification: Certified Ice Carver, Certified Professional Ice Carver, and Certified Master Ice Carver. The minimum points required to achieve each level of certification is listed on the points sheet. After certification is granted, the only requirement is to remain an active member of NICA. The first step in the certification process is first to become a member of NICA. For more information on membership, please check our membership page. Next, you need to complete the Certification Point Sheet and assemble the supporting documentation. You may download a copy of the certification point sheet here. |
