The National Ice Carving Association Presents the

“2013 Coaches Retreat”

What is it?- A chance for Collegiate and High School Coaches to come together in a relaxed learning environment. One day of hands-on seminars one day of relaxed discussion and networking at the Mohican State Lodge. 

When?-  July 9 – 11 2013

Where?-  Elegant Ice Creations in Broadview Heights, Cleveland, Ohio & The Mohican State Resort & Conference Center located on Pleasant Hill Lake in Perrysville, Ohio

Meals and Lodging- Lodging for two nights will be covered with your entry fee at The Mohican State Resort. Two coaches per room (If you would like to room alone, you will need to pay for your own lodging). Some meals will be provided by our host and NICA.

Who Can Come & Eligibility?- All that we ask is that you are currently a College or High School Ice Carving Coach, Instructor or interested in becoming an instructor and a member of NICA. First 10 to sign up will be accepted so sign up quick.

Why Come?- Learn carving techniques from some of the best in our industry. Share and relax with other coaches. Earn points to become a NICA Certified Ice Carving Educator. Earn valuable ACF CEH's, NICA Certification Points and Continuing Education Hours.

What Will I Learn? - Please see Agenda on the next two pages for a list of seminars that we will be teaching. We are hoping to be approved for around 8 valuable ACF CEH's.

What do I Need Bring?- Carving Apparel ( Carving will be done outside the freezer).

Education: Want to learn how to carve Ice


Check out our find a sculptor page for Ice carvers in your area. They will list if they offer instruction.

A number of culinary schools offer some instruction in ice carving as part of their curriculum. In an effort to support students interested in the art of sculpting ice, NICA has established an "Ice Art Education" Scholarship. Applications for this scholarship are due April 1, so click here for more information!
